Good morning,

I'm not sure if this is a Pegomya winthemi. It was collected in a pan trap situated on a pinewood, in Palma (Majorca).

I presume you have doubt about the shape of the distiphallus (aedaegus, paraphallus), which seems a bit round….
All other components of the genitals seems to fit P. winthemi….
There seems no other palearctic species in which a mistake can be made, so I think the distiphallus could be mistaken by another part.
But.....having doubt in Anthomyiidae is very healty!
Keep this one as P. winthemi, with a little red flag and try to collect other specimen in the future, to compare with.

Once I collect another specimen I will compare them, so I will keep this specimen as a Pegomyia winthemi (?), with doubts.

Thank you very much, Johanna.
