Recently in the Italian Enthomologists Forum (FEI) Silvano Biondi, expert in Coleoptera Attelabidae, asked for the determination of flies emerging from material collected in Gabon.

He is interested in knowing something more on those parassitoids and is keeping the specimens emerging from the leaves rolls collected in Gabon.

Very interesting, but I have no idea which family this is.
An Acalyptratae, hence not a Tachinidae !

Hello Carlo & Theo,

This is a Chloropidae. The wing venation is diagnostic. They are known to parasitise many orders of insects. Here is an example: https://onlinelib....tb00079.x

Kind regards,

Thanks to all.
Does anybody know a Chloropidae expert interested in examining the specimens?
