I only manage to get the one photo taken in Monte Verde, Costa Rica April 2019.
I would be grateful of any suggestions perhaps of family.

It looks a bit strange, the colors are off, I guess because it was photographed in the shade under a leaf and the scutellar spines are unusually long. But I still think it could be a female Cyphomyia, maybe even Cyphomyia wiedemanni.
