Hello,
In the south of France, on October 10, 2019.
Dry garrigue area.
13.5 mm long.
In the pictures of Scaeva pyrastri, I usually see the underside of the white abdomen. Can it be orange like this?
It kept flapping its wings while sucking in the nectar from the flower.

maybe due to feeding? It is Scaeva pyrastri.
