Hello,
On September 17, 2019 in the south of France - 5,5 mm.
This fly was watching a Prionyx kirbii trying to excavate its nest. The dipteran followed it quite closely in all its movements.
Could it still be Taxigramma?
A Prionyx kleptoparasite fly?
The wing venation and perhaps the colors shows that it is however another species than that of my subject https://diptera.info/forum/viewthread.php?thread_id=91784

Looking closer, I don't think it's a Taxigramma but rather an Apodacra.
It is also a wasp nest kleptoparasite.
I read that there are 5 species of Apodacra in France.
Is it possible to determine the species here?

Yes, it is Apodacra.
I have too little material to help with the species level.

I don't know if there is a key for identifying these small kleptoparasites. The 5 species present in France must be described somewhere but for the moment, I have not found anything.

It is quite surprising to see that there are several valid species but that the photos only show Apodacra dispar or Apodacra sp. ! In France, on the INPN website, of the 5 valid species, only one, Apodacra dispar, is validated by observations. The others seem to be just names! For my internet searches only because I imagine there are other documents.

It's difficult to go beyond Apodacra. European Apodacra are in need of revision.
