Berlin - August 2019

Hello everyone,

I found these diptera mating on my flowerbox. I see long arista but i also think that certain Phoridae have long arista(?). I am not sure about the family. Is Sphaeroceridae correct?

i tried to get as close as possible which forces me to focus on one of them, so i chose the female. The photo is cropped from the original so it is no larger.

Thank you,
John

Thanks Jürgen! this is another family i know very little about. I have seen Megaselia in my kitchen before but i've never examined one or made a positive id on one before.

Best wishes,
John
