Hello,
I found this specimen on a dry meadow in Vienna, Austria on August 4. So far, I only have found C. bicolor, but this one is clearly different. Viewing a couple of images my guess is Cylindromyia interrupta.

Hi Eckart, I think it's C. intermedia due to yellow antenna segment 2 and base of 3. But quite difficult to see. More common in Southern Europa but seen in Vienna.

Hi Eric, thanks a lot. I can try to make an enlarged view of the head from the original image. Maybe then the antennae are better visible (but I only can do it in the evening when at home).

Yes, I still think that antenna 2 and base of 3 are yellow and additionally we can see the calyptrae being yellow-brown on the inner margin. As it is a rare species I would mark it as C. cf intermedia and hopefully you'll find confirmation or veto from Theo.

You didn't mention auriceps.
To me, the third antennal segment is too short for male intermedia. And yes, the third antennal segment is orange, but only slightly, that's OK for auriceps. Finally, I don't see a third supraalar bristle, again indicating auriceps.
