Dear Dipterans,

on 02.05.2019 I found a black fly with smoky wings on moss covering a dead beech tree in the forest. I encountered it at night. Here are the pictures I took:

I would really appreciate it if you would help me with identification, so far I was unsuccessful to find a matching species.

Best regards,
Adrian

More probably S. mehadiae.(genae are wide). A control question - is it about as large a a housefly? If so, it must be S. mehadiae, as S. nigrithorax is much smaller.

Thank you for the help. @Jan Maca: I dont quite remember how big it was, probably about 5-6mm.
