Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Chironomidae Zavrelimyia? (France)

Hello,

This fly was seen in my flat on 28 May 2019 in Annemasse, France (close to Geneva, Switzerland). It may belong to the genus Zavrelimyia but I'm quite bothered to go further in the ID because the only key I have is the 1932 Faune de France, which has few drawings to help.

I was wondering if the wing pattern could be specific enough to speculate on the ID at the species level.

Thank you so much, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Guillaume

Size: 3,9 mm (from head to top of wings)

I would agree, this is Zavrelimyia, and the wing pattern looks like barbatipes, rather than any of the other species
