Rather little fly ( c.a 5mm ) with deeply black scutellum. I apologize for the poor picture. Central Poland 11.06

I'd suggest Azelia (Muscidae)

The mid leg is strongly modified (tubercle on tibia, femur swollen with strong hairs) : it is more likely a male Fannia.

Looks like some dark spots on the abdomen - are these characteristic of Fannia?

Yes, I'd overlooked the legs - not quite right for Azelia! :S
