Chloropidae, Oscinellinae: Calamoncosis glyceriae Nartshuk, 1958. The female has a compressed acute ovipositor (like only few other Calamoncosis species not ocurring in The Netherlands because of absence of their host grsses) for penetrating the stems and leaves of its host grass Glyceria (Poaceae). The elongated proboscis is hidden on this photo. It is shared with C. laminiformis (Becker, 1908), a valid species from the Canary Islands, a name which was used by Duda (1932-3), Collin (1946) and Skidmore (1970) for C. glyceriae. An abundant species in ditches, swamps and reed beds with Glyceria spp., especially G. maxima.
