Hi there,
I'm French and passionate of microscopy so you'll not see me often on the forum ! But we (microscopists) meet small insects and (insect's pieces).
I found this egg in water running from a small peat bog (671 yards high, in hilly country, middle of France) .
It hatched 2 days after ( I maintained the preparation in a humid box).
I think that it's a diptera egg and larva. Have somebody any idea of the ID, I know that it 'll be difficult.
Thanks in advance.
Philippe

From what I can make out, this is a chironomid larva.
