Found today in Shetland, approx 3mm in length.

Why, Roger ? I see (too) many antennal segments. Looks loke a straightforward B. johannis to me.

Why Theo? Because that's the only Bibio sp. on my checklist. So if it is a straightforward B.johannis then its a new species of Bibio for Shetland. :)

Ah ! identification by administration.
That said, I still think it is the female of B. johannis. A male, of course, would be more convenient...
