Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Chloropidae: Oscinellinae: Elachiptera?

keyed to Elachiptera using the Manual of the Nearctic Diptera chloropid key. Using Sabrosky’s key to this genus appears to lead to Elachiptera formosa based on my interpretation that the scutellar tubercles are only about as long as they are wide and the the diameter of the hind femur being ~2.5 > than the diameter of the hind tibia. I could be way off so I'd appreciate some expert input into the ID.
Size: body ~3mm from photo. Found near the Potomac River
