Hello,
saw this hoverfly (?) on 3rd of April 2019 at the edge of a forest. Bavaria, Germany.
Can anyone determine the species/genus? Thank you!

I would say,
Brachypalpus cf. valgus female. For expert confirmation you should post Syphidae questions in the Syrphidae subforum.
