Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Unknown Muscidae, which genus ?-->Atherigona varia

Caught on a net on a Santolina chamaecyparissas plant, June the 14th, 2018 (Iberia: Catalonia: Girona: Beuda). I'm quite sure is a Muscidae, but couldn't get to genus, the one more similar was Trichops.. Length: 4.2 mm.

Hi rafael_carbonell,

I'm no expert, but to me this looks like Atherigona sp. because of it's habitus.

I have finally determined it as Atherigona varia as it fits with the descripion, although I do not know how they are other recorded iberian species. You can see it here: https://www.flick...674835847/
