is an ID of these flies possible? Maybe Chrysops rufipes?

Found in Germany, Saxony, Chemnitz in a wet mixed forest, 300...400 m

Thanks for confirmation, Theo.
It was found in a former, now renaturated, military area dominated by deciduous forest in the Zeisigwald. there are some small lakes, (temporary) pools and remaining ditches, but not a river, only small streamlets.
