Hello,
in between some old Haematopota pluvialis photos I found this one from a fly with white scutellum.
Is it a Haematopota scutellata?
Thanks, Marion

(Photographed in August 2004, Germany, Saxony)

Very very nice indeed !
Could you be slightly more specific on the locality, please ?

It is very long ago.
With certainty the fly was found in Chemnitz (min. altitude 300 m), most probably in the district Hutholz on the outskirts (mixed forest, fields, meadows, ruderal sites, altitude between 400 and 520 m).

Thanks, Marion. So definitely in the more hilly regions of southern Saxony. That makes total sense. The species is descrobed from Check republic, if I remember correctly.

Many thanks, Theo.
So, I can store it as a Haematopota scutellata.

Best regards
