Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Syrphid from N Spain to ID please -> Pipizella sp. male

Found on Crithmum maritimum, in a beach of Asturias (N Spain) on september 2018.

I appreciate any help to ID it.

I think is is Cheilosia sp. male, but it's not much help, is it? :)

Oh! :o

I was thinking about some species in tribe Pipizini (after checking the venation) but I'm unfamiliar with these species. :-( I'd rule out Cheilosia, but thanks anyway for having a look and giving your oppinion, Henrik. :)

Edit: I'm going to be "brave" and propose genus Pipizella, risking to say something silly. :)

No, you're not silly, this is indeed a male Pipizella. But without specimen not to be identified to species.....

OK, Gerard, I'll settle for Pipizella then. :) At least now I have an idea of what a Pipizella looks like. ;)
