Hello NakaRB & Renko,
Yes, most definitely a Desmometopa. The yellow haltere, the small post ocular strip, the absence of a shining black mark on the genae, the pale genae, the yellow metatarsi and the small black spot on the side of the thorax all point to a female Desmometopa varipalpis. Do you perchance have a photo which shows the colour of the palps?
The photo's are very nice! Would you let me use the upper one in a upcoming paper reporting this species new for the Netherlands?
