Hello,
yesterday I found this abandoned pupal shell on an imported Physalis peruviana with a small borehole. The puparium had a length between 4 and 5 mm. Could it be from a small hoverfly? Are there some more probable families with similar puparia?
Thanks, Marion

Looks like a Syrphid! Interesting if that is an exit hole from the same larva. I wonder what hoverfly it could be?

Thank you for confirming the family.
I have searched a little with Google, but unfortunately without success. I would also like to know whether the hole is from the fly, but there are certainly a number of possible candidates in other insect families. In any case, the exit hole is quite small compared to the size of the pupa.
