Thread subject: Diptera.info :: A pretty Muscid from Patagonia, Chile

First, thank-you to member John F. Carr for the family ID. I would love to have any further ID information.

This pretty fly was at rest on a tall stump of dried wood. The fly measured 4 - 5 mm in length.

I can provide enlarged photos of parts of the fly if that will help.

Oh, and the place was Reserva Forestal Magallanes, just outside Punta Arenas, Chile.

If you look at Malloch 1934 maybe Darwinomyia sp?
