I think this is Mallota posticata, but the hair on the abdomen appears to be too extensive. Can anyone confirm my ID. The picture was taken in Toronto, Canada. Cheers Richard

Add ‘ Mallota’ to the title and/ or move to the Syrphidae subforum to draw attention ocf the experts.
