Hello,
On October 18, 2018 in the south of France on ivy.
A small Sepsidae whose femurs and tibias do not have the same characteristics as Sepsis thoracica that I previously illustrated.
Thank you for your help in identifying it.

The modified fore femur in family Sepsidae is usually a male secondary sexual character. You have a female.

Thank you very much John,
A female of Sepsis thoracica?
Is it her genitalia that it shows us in the second picture?

All I can say it is not Sepsis punctum because that species has only one pair of dorsocentral bristles and your fly has two. The pattern of white on the side of the thorax is sometimes helpful to distinguish females.

The tube is the ovipositor.
