Hi,

it is a female of the genus Anasimyia, maybe A. cf. interpuncta??
cheers, Helge

Thanks Helge! But I thought Anasimyia had yellow antennae?

Hello Johane & Helge,

It certainly not Anasimyia because the face has a black stripe. It is indeed a Helophilus.
Its either H. hybridus or affinis. There seem to be yellow bands at the hind margin of tergite 3 and 4. That would indicate H. hybridus. However the fore tarsi is quite yellow, indicative of H. affinis. Besides the entirely black hind femora also seem to indicate this species.

For certain I'd need to see the specimen.

Kind regards,

Ectemnius

I didn't collect this fly so I guess we won't get any further.
Thanks for your help! :-)
