Hi,
Here are some pictures from May 2015, taken in southern Brandenburg. Big black Empis males hunted prey of equal size (Bibio marci, Empis opaca). I got to Empis ciliata and would appreciate confirmation. The species is lacking in the list of Brandenburgian empidids; however, there was another record (https://diptera.i...pid=353869).
