I am wondering how much can be variation in calypter's color? In my flies calypters are not black (and not white-yellowish).
They are Calliphora vicina, right?
Here is a blowfly collected in northern Finland (attached to glass plate with wax).

Although the calypters appear darker in the second specimen, the ones of the first specimen are still darkened. It may be that it is freshly emerged, and the colour has not yet developed fully.

Yes, indeed: first fly is 2 days old, second - 4 days old.
