Hello, I found this fly today in a wet meadow near a river in north-western Germany. Which species is it?
Thanks for you help. Greetings, Adrian

It's a Coremacera (family Sciomyzidae). Here in NL we only have C. marginata so that would be my guess for NW Germany.

Hello James,

thanks for your help! I looked for Coremacera; in this region there are three species: C. catenata, C. fabricii and C. marginata. The last one seems to be the most common and also the others look different. You are right with C. marginata. Thanks!

Greetings, Adrian
