A very conspicuous fly because of his bright red eyes.
Bristles on the abdomen and the wing venation suggest Tachinidae (male).
Any suggestions regarding genus or species?

Male Cholomyia. I'm not sure of species.

I read the 2016 Cholomyia revision by Domingos de Santis and Shigueo Nihei. It presents a simple key for the (only 4) species. If you just consider leg length, thorax color and pruinosity on scutum, it points to C. filipes. The distribution map shows presence of filipes in nearby Guyana. But not many taxon sources seem to have included the Cholomyia species in their database yet.
Thanks,
David

I thought C. filipes based on the key in the revision, but the leg color is a little wrong.

Thanks John.
I'll label it cf. filipes.
