Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Surinam Tachinidae

Saw a lot of beautiful flies in Surinam.
Am I right in assuming that this is a wasp mimic Syrphidae (female)?
edit: no I am not, wing veination says Tachinidae
They were quite abundant in the north.
Location of this one: Republiek (near Zanderij)

Looks like a beautiful Doleschaliini, though some Dexiini can look pretty similar.

Could Sophiini be a possibility as well?
I am thinking about Cordyligaster species that look quite similar to this one.
And could this be the male of the same species?:
