On a Anthriscus sylvestris (?) near a pond.
7 - 8 mm.

Many features support Prooppia, but the vertex seems too be a bit narrow for nigripalpis. You have a second species.
At what altitude did you find it ?

Altitude: 74 m - about 20 km from the coast.

Thank you so much, Theo! P. nigripalpis is the only Prooppia in Norway. Do you need more photos of the fly to be able to determine it? I've kept the fly.

so, I checked my collection: it is P. nigripalpis.

You should have strigifrons, as well, though. Probably rare and high in the mountains / far up north.
