Berlin - June 2018

I also found this today around the garbage area of my apartment building.
This looks similar to the other specimen but the abdomen is greenish.

is it possible to get a genus? I intend to examine the specimen when i have free time to do so.

Thank you for your time.

Thank you, Tony. I am happy that you recognize it. I'm not very good with Chironomidae. I can't seem to find keys for adults. I always find angling/fishing keys to larva.

I have to say that i am always amazed at what i find around my apartment building. The weather here in Berlin has been cloudy and rainy most of the summer for two years now. I decided to stay home alot last year and i seem to find more stuff at home. I don't have to go out much to discover something interesting. I even found Pollenia atramentaria at a window in my building. I was surprised to see Chironomidae hiding under the leaf of a tree around the garbage area.

anyway, Thank you :)
