finally found a Hippoboscidae just sitting on a wooden post at the garbage area of my apartment building. I could only make a few bad flash photos. I use f16 indoors with flash which works nicely but f11 with flash is required outdoors. I didn't have time to change settings.

I can see 8 scutellar bristles, so this should be Ornithomya avicularia, correct?
I have a specimen but i will wait to examine it.
