Hello! Is it possible to identify the genus (or species)? Is it male?
Time and place: 2016-08-01 14:35:00. In the bank of the Tulva river. Midlle Ural.
Latitude: North. 56°47'36"
Longitude: East. 55°44'04"

Hello usiaz,

another photo isn't helpful, unless you have a photo of genitalia. Sarcophaga (Sarcophaga) can only be distinguished by genitalia. I find that the aedeagus is most necessary because the cerci and surstyli look very similar. I've attached a photo of mine depicting the aedeagus of Sarcophaga (Sarcophaga) carnaria.

I use the nonpareil work of Dr. Thomas Pape. Dr. Pape is Great and i admire his work very much. If you decide to collect specimens, then i highly recommend the book "The Sarcophagidae of Fennoscandia and Denmark" by Dr. Pape.
