There seem to be a large number of these flies about at present, too - these are very small (5 mm). Some clues regarding ID would be most welcome.

I think it belongs in superfamily Empidoidea. For both flies posted today, a dorsal closeup showing wing veins would help.

Could be Brachystomatidae as this reminds me very much of Trichopeza. But, yes, a dorsal view would be helpful.
