Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Syrphus fly?

I'm not sure about this syrphid. At first sight it looks like a Syrphus sp. or a Eristalis sp. It is about 15 mm long.

Myathropa florea. Pattern on thorax very distinctive.

I totally agree with Stephane, but I?ve never seen this species with such orangy colouring. Is this the true colour or is there something wrong with my screen..:o

Such orange specimens make about 2-5% here in my region (Ostwestfalen/Germany). Some also have a different striping:
