Found in Bergen,Norway a few days ago.

Could this be in the genus Egle? And is it possible to get the species name from the photos?

In the Egle brevicornis species group. They are especially hairy.

Thanks a lot for the ID, John. When you said it´s in the Egle brevicornis species group, does that means there are several species with the name Egle brevicornis, so you can´t get exact ID on my species? I know almost nothing about diptera, so I ask and hope I can learn something.

Best regards
Truls

There are at least two other species very similar to Egle brevicornis. They have different names. One is Egle ciliata.

Thanks a lot for the information. So to get exact ID, they must be checked under a microscope..
