Hello,

I would be interested to know what kind of fly it might be.

I photographed it on 02.04.2018 on a wall of a castle ruin in Germany, Hesse.

In America a black stripe on the middle of the thorax means Pollenia vagabunda. http://cjai.biolo...mw_198.htm. I don't know if the same is true in Europe.

Pollenia vagabunda occurs in Germany.
