Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Stratiomyidae? (South Australia)

This individual measured 12 mm. I'm wondering if it could be Stratiomyidae sp. It was photographed on our rural property on a very hot summer's morning.

I was fortunate enough to photograph from this angle, too, which may aid identification.
