Thread subject: Diptera.info :: A Syrphidae? Xylota sylvarum

End of September last year in my garden in Gronau-Epe. Approximately 9-10 mm in size.

for Syrphidae there is an extra section in this forum.

Looks like Xylota sylvarum.

Thanks for the answer and the hint. Is Xylota segnis possible? Unfortunately, the photo is not very clear and I have only this.

more a gut feeling than an exact ID. The high contrast colouration of the hind legs reminded me immediately of X. sylvarum (which is rather abundant here). Also I think, I can see a bit of the yellow "fur" on the abdomen. Compare this one: https://diptera.i...to_id=5747

Thank you! X. segnis was my gut feeling :) I think i can see red color under the wings.

I would also prefer X. segnis because of the pattern on abdomen.
