Hi,

this Tabanids are from Lithuania. 07.31
Are 20 mm long..

Please ID..

Pity we can't see the eye, but mungut feeling is bromius.

Theo, why bromius? As you wrote we have not better view on eyes, but my impression is T. autumnalis...

Yes, that is obviously the alternative.
The shape of the sublateral spots did not convince me as autumnalis.
Moreover, the notopleural lobes are pretty dark (or is this just the picture ?).
That said, the antenna is black, which does suggest autumnalis.

So, for me, inconclusive.

Oh, sorry, I only just noticed ' 20 mm. Long'
That clearly settles it as autumnalis.
