Hi,
This is a tachinidae I have in stock since a while. But still, I can't manage to even find a convincing genera name. i used "central european key" and it lead me (hardly) to
Masicera. It doesn't look really similar on picture I found.
Do you have any idea?
From north France, in a glade.

Clearly a Lydella, looks like thompsoni.
So, what was the habitat ?

It's in a swampy area. In the plants on side of a pool

OK, that does not exclude any Lydella.
As said, long third antennal segment suggests thompsoni.

Just try to follow the key on this genus, but failed. Front doesn't seems really large, but I don't get the idea of the pruinosity and the marginales.
Wich angle of the dry specimen would help to be more confident on the specie? Arista?

A good lateral view on the antenna (it is hidden, now)
a dorsal view on the abdomen, obliquely from behind
the wing.

Is it the good angle for abdomen?

Can't do better than that for the antenna.

Thanks for you patience to stay with me.
Lydella is a pretty tricky genus.
