My first post here, I hope that I don't make too much mistakes.

South-west of France, near Toulouse, March 2016, on a poorly maintained little grassland.

Welcome Catherine, I'm happy to answer to our first post :
In my opinion, this is a male Bellardia, maybe Bellardia pubicornis (if abdomen without any greenish reflection and mouthedge strongly protruding, which I can't really be sure on these pictures).

The mouthedge is indeed strrongly projectig forward and it lacks metallic green on the abdomen. I'm convinced it is Bellardia pubicornis.

Sorry for the late answer, but I wanted to know the opinion of Dr Knut Rognes before replying, having myself some doubts. Dr Rognes thinks the area doesn't fit for B. pubicornis indeed, as the infuscation of wings. So we have to downgrade the ID to "sp."
Sorry.

Thank you very much for having made this research. Bellardia sp. is good enough, better than just Calliphoridae :)
