Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Diptera (adult) Muscidae?

I think it is no Tachinidae, but I am not sure if it is Muscidae? To me it looks like Phaonia subventa

Location: Central Germany, 180m asl., 4th May

I cannot see a Phaonia bristle but it looks like a Phaonia. tibiae look dark to me which excludes subventa. I have examined subventa female and the tibiae are orange on this species but I don't see a dark line on the abdomen.

Hennig mentions a possible dark line. My female specimen has no dark line but apparently it is possible. I suppose that the tibiae could be darker so maybe it is subventa (variegata.) bitincta is similar. I still say wait for Stephane.

The tibiae are probably lighter than they appear. I'd say P. subventa.
