Small, probably 5-7mm.
19th Oct. 2017. Flensburg, Germany.
On leaf of sour cherry sapling in my garden.

There was a window of sunshine during a long wet spell and in this time several small flies and wasps appeared on the sour cherry, adjacent Josta and flowering old raddish below an apple tree (image 4of4). Elsewhere in the garden insects were scarce.

Thanks in advance

Calliopum sp., possibly the most common stripe-eyed flies. :D

Thanks Paul.
Had read of those but didn't expect to find one in my garden. Never saw the stripes at the time - only noticed them when reviewing my old photos. This micro-world of little creatures never fails to amaze a new-comer like me.;)
