I´m agree wit you. This specimen looks like it is not older than a few days. Is it very late of the year for this fly?
When I read more description of B.clavipes and B.longipes, it looks like mine are female B.clavipes. If I have understood it right, B.longipes has more transparent wings and the pterostigma are darker and more distinct than B.clavipes. Both sexes of B.longipes have black legs, but female B.clavipes can have brown legs. Am I totally wrong here, or have I understood i right?
