Could this be a Paykullia maculata? or something else maybe?

According to the gallery, Paykullia maculata has cell r5 closed. Your fly has it open.

Where can I find an explanation of the status of Morinia, Anthracomyia, and the species names within them? The last paper I read places Anthracomyia as a junior synonym. (O'Hara et al. 2011. Nomenclatural Studies Toward a World List of Diptera Genus-Group Names. Part II: Camillo Rondani. Zootaxa 3141.)

Yes, you are right. I think it should be Morinia doronici these days.
