Thank You for the explanation Gerard. I have yet to find a male. I always find the females for some reason. Based upon the hairy eyes, then I guess this is E. sepulchralis. I wonder when I will find E. aeneus. I suppose that I have to look in new places next spring/summer.

I am trying to learn more about Syrphidae. I am surprised that more people do not study them. I like Syrphidae.
