Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Lauxaniidae? = Meiosimyza rorida

Berlin - mid September - found at a window
4mm (6mm including wings)

I have trouble with these small yellow/orange flies because similar flies can be found in multiple families. I think that this fly is a Lauxaniidae but I cannot place it in a genus. I'll be happy with a genus but I can add more photos if someone can help me reach a species level too. I do not know if it is a male or a female. The terminalia looks odd to me.

interesting. I thought about Meiosimyza rorida before but the genitalia doesn't look exactly like the drawing in Shatalkin's book. I suppose that maybe I do not have the genitalia in the correct position according to the drawing. However, the keys lead to M. rorida.

I wasn't aware that the valid name of the genus is Meiosimyza.

I found a resource with microscopic photos of M. rorida including genitalia and it is a match. Shatalkin's keys also agree. I am very happy. Thank You Sven.
