Can I have an ID for this please, found Fenland, Oxon, England, July 2017.

I would check also Chalcosyrphus nemorum, I don't know Xylota with yellow "knees". Xylota sp. usually have yellow larger parts of tibia.

On the other hand, the overall look is different.

Yes thanks Treebeard, with the enlarged hind femora, I thinking this is Chalcosyrphus nemorum.

I agree with treebeard but be careful to eliminate Tropidia, which also bear large hind femora.
